New to Boards and new project!
Hello and greeting from Lake Jackson, TX. I just recently found my current project, a 1968 Longben. the body is in pretty god shape and under the ugly carpet the floors are solid. Looks like the corners need to be done but it 95% better than my 71 longbed. It says to have a 327 but the guy I bought it from didnt know. It also say custom camper but not sure of that either since all I have read the custom campers would probly have leafs in the rear and this one doesnt. But anyway a good solid project and wanted to introduce my self and let yall know to be expecting many questions.

Re: New to Boards and new project!
Welcome aboard! This is easilly the best forum around (and not just for these trucks). Looks like you have a nice start.
did the custom campers have dual tanks/batteries in 68?

Re: New to Boards and new project!
no dual tanks or batteries, still trying to figure out the trucks history. I have been trying to verify the VIN by finding it stamped on the frome but cannot locate it under the hood on the drvers side close to the sterring knuckle and not there. next i just found on here it should be on the passengers side under the cab so I will look there in a few. but whatever the history of the truck, whether someone put it together or its original, its a solid truck and i am happy to have my 68 finally. thanks, all of you for the welcomes and know that in a few days expect the how do you questions as i find some questions i can answer with searching the forums or google.
