Heatriser for Headers?
Hey guys, I was wonderin if there was a place to buy, or if anyone has made a heatriser for a set of headers.
If anyone has pics they would be much appreciated. Evan

Are you talking about a stove pipe? Something that takes the heat from the header and pipes it up to the intake? You might check the parts board.

Several years ago, Texas started requiring the snorkle air cleaner with the heat riser for inspections. I saw a drawing of the attachement in one of the header catalogs but the parts store told me they couldn't order it. (think they just didn't want to bother) Went to the hardware store and bought a drain pipe "T", like you use under the kitchen sink to tie the two drains into one pipe. Measure the tube on the air cleaner housing as they come in two sizes. I cut half of the long tube off to form a saddle. Put two socket head screws in the saddle to hold it off the header tube and allow a little air flow and put it on with two muffler clamps. Tied it to the air cleanner with flexable heat riser hose from the parts store. Not the best looking but it passed state inspection till my daughter totaled it. Will snap a pic tomorrow if that helps. (it is still sitting in the driveway, great for spare parts but the wife doesn't like having parts that handy!)

Looks a little jikky but it is the only chrome on the engine! Slide the flex tube over the piece sticking up.
