Re: heater box restore?

I can't remember the name of the stuff I used. It was like fiberglass in a tube.
Filled in cracks, sanded it down and primered heater box, then painted it body color. I think I got the stuff at Autozone.

Re: heater box restore?

Fiberglass repair kits are available at most autoparts stores. Just depends on how bad your box is & the amount of work you want to do.

Re: heater box restore?

Hit it with 40 or 60 grit sandpaper and apply fiberglass sheet with the resin. A kit might have what you need otherwise just buy a roll of fiberglass mat and the resin (2 parts). Cut the mat to fit, then mix the resin, coat the mat and apply. If at all possible cover the whole piece, so it will be uniform as opposed to looking patched, sand when hard and paint. Fiberglass repairs are really pretty simple, just wear rubber gloves and some sort of mask when sanding, those fibers are nasty and will make you itch (or kill ya if you breath them in!)
