The tach is an Aqua Meter marine tach mounted on the panel...Used the original wiring as the tach depth will fit inside the panel ( I have pics of the mounting if wanted)...

No problem on the trim.... used good quality masking tape (Scotch 3-M Green ) available at paint and body shop material vendors

I bought 6 tachs several years ago at a marine supply vendor bankruptcy auction... Paid $50.00 each if I recall... have 2 or 3 left. I like the fact that the tach will mount inside the panel so that the back panel wiring does not need to be modified...
