Re: need advice on bag
Sometimes my truck has to be parked for a month or two with no air in the bags and I've never had any problems.

Re: need advice on bag
cant say for sure about other manufactures, but the firestone double convoluted bags have a bump stop built in. I keep a least 30# in mine during storage.

Re: need advice on bag
what kind of bags are those? looks like a slam specialties bag. If so, they have an internal bump stop. I leave mine aired out every night when i get home from work, and i left them aired out all winter (parked in my garage). no issues at all.
i'm curious to see a pic of the bag inflated. did you use a cup on the bottom? if so, how tall? one thing i will suggest you do ASAP is flip those bolts holding your upper plate in. they should have the nut on the top, so that there is no chance of your bag rubbing on the threads of the bolt. hope that helps. |

Good eye and I agree on the bolts. Having bump stops is a must (IMO) for two reasons.... one is obviously storage, the other is if you have a line break, compressor failure or whatever, your wheels wont smash into your outer fenders, possibly damaging the tires or metal.

by looking at how much that bag is compressed, my guess is that he should have an inch or so clearance on the cross member, and shouldn't rub the inners at all. |

Re: need advice on bag
Come to think about it dump trucks with the drop axel for heavy loads are always somewhat inflated even when not being used....
