sub box sorta done till have time
surprisingly, for not doing a final fit before i glassed it, it doesnt affect seat position. still have to paint amp area black and build amp area cover to match box and wire everything again. might be few weeks. might build end caps for 6.5 rockford speakers, i have sony 6x9s however, imo the entire explode line are the ugliest audio out there.

Nice work. May I ask how you attached it to the cab?

Re: sub box sorta done till have time
thanx! ive never built a sub box before, so im glad it didnt turn out like a 3rd grader did it. but, could and would easily do another. i have about 7 hours in this one from start to stage it is now (ok, i cheated and used a heat gun to speed up the glass and filler drying time) and as for sanding well that was the worst part and also took over 50% of the time. total cost of the materials was $30 for full sheet of 3/4 mdf and $60 in resin, bondo and high build primer and paint i already had. it hasnt been mounted inside cab yet, im going to make some l brackets for the sides and screw to floor, which will be hidden with the end caps. im thinking about adding blue leds under the amp, but box is getting put to the side for now, trucks getting painted mid may so thats where my times going now.

Re: sub box sorta done till have time
That is looking good! I wanna do something sort of like that in mine once I get the gas tank out of the way. For mounting, what about taking out the speakers and running some bolts through the bottom of the box?

Re: sub box sorta done till have time
only pic i have, pass seat isnt bolted in at the moment but drivers does slide all the way back. decided to throw truck on ebay, before i spend a bunch of more money on something thats never driven due to baby. bought a new ford supercrew lariat... i know i know its a ford, but it aint like 20 years ago. all the big 3's make nice trucks...just not there prices. as for mounting bos, i thought about running bolts thru bottom but i think its boxed in by cab mounts, its a good idea id have to check, thanx

Re: sub box sorta done till have time
yup there 10's. mounting depth is 5-5/8". i had 2 store bought boxes that had a recess plate for the magnet, they were taking out and put in this one. finally got everything done to box...as much as im going to bother with anyway.
