Going to be dropping the tank...any advice? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My gas gauge doesn't work on the Blazer - so I want to get that fixed before I start driving it in the summer.

After reading the posts about what to check - it would seem that the float has sank...so I need to get in there and have a look.

Since I have a 6" lift - any advice/tips for dropping the tank to swap the sender?

I Did Mine Not That Long Ago And It Was Pretty Straight Forward
Drain First I Replaced All The Lines While I Was There Pretty Cheap

cleaning it out was the hardest or messiest part
are you sure it is the float and not the wire or gauge unplug the wire at the sending unit and at the fuse panel to make sure
its alot easier to replace the wire than the sending unit
there is a whole bunch of threads on how to trouble shoot a fuel gauge
i unplugged mine at the fuse box and got needle movement
plugged it back in and then unplugged it at the sender and got needle movement
wich led me to the sender itself and that was the problem
replaced it and bingo all good
