anybody near Illinois witha transmission cross member for an 81 chevy? Not sure what else would need to be known.

Let me look around the garage. I think I put it up on a rack. You many need to drill some holes to fit your frame. Especially if you are installing a 700R4. 81 frames and older don't have holes for 700R4 locations.

Checkout the custom crossmembers here too.

i have a 76 2wd auto (th350) crossmember-- id have to check on shipping, but id like to get $30 out of the crossmember for time taking it out.

shipping will be $20, or if you want it by 8:00 AM tuesday shipping is $198 i can PROBABLY get it out this weekend, as im planning to take the cab and clip off the frame saturday

I completely appreciate what it takes to grind the rivets off to get one of these out, so I don't think $30 is out of line at all. Nonetheless, $50 is more than I wanted to spend. I'll keep looking local, thanks!

did you ever find one of these? i have the cab off now and found out someone has had it out before, its just bolted in. i could take less for it if you still need it

ill have to look under my 74.. its been in the family since 1976, with the trans never being out of it. i know untill 72 they were rivited, but honestly ive never looked on a 73+

Has anyone ever used one of these universal crossmembers? It looks like the center part has to be welded to the bolt-in frame brackets. Is this true or does it connect together differently?
