ATTN: Fine69, 68 Suburban, or anyone else who has used an auto shipping company

Howdy,

I'm beginning to look for someone to transport my Stepside from Illinois, down here to Tampa. I've never done this before, what should I look out for, and are there any companies that anyone could recommend?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

TJ

P.S. I'd like to thank Blue Beard for starting a fire under my rear about all this. I saw his 72 GMC for sale, and if you'd paint that truck light blue, and put a 68 chevy grille on it, it's the exact stance as my 68. Even has the same rims.... So thanks again Blue Beard, for the indirect help you've provided...LOL

68 Stepside:

Try Dependable Auto Shippers.

You can track your ride all the way there.

Thanks for the praise on my 72.

I have paper on most of the previouse owners, and some papers that look like assembly line papers.

She's original except for the Tilt Steering column, and the wheels.

I am currently trying to get an car shipped from Nebraska to Maine. I got the best quote from precious cargo, but it has been 4 weeks and still no action. I have since gone to another company, called traditional, who said they guarantee 2 weeks, but I have not heard from them either, but it has been less than a week.
I hope you have better luck, but I am wondering if I am just going to have drive out and get the car myself, since nobody likes to go to Maine, apparently.
Being from Tampa, I suspect you will get better service from either of those companies than I have.(or have not, as the case may be)

Transporting

Dependable Auto Shippers usually pickup within 3 days.

I had one shipped by them clear across states in 10 days.
