Re: GMC Jimmy photo
Looks good, how well do you like your tires? Im in the market for some new ones, and have thought about those. Also, if you wheel very often you might want to upgrade to some locking hubs. That soft top is sweet, what brand is it?

Re: GMC Jimmy photo
The top comes from Speciality Tops Company out of Denver Colorado and I have been very happy with it. It has been on the truck 4-5 years with no problems.
The Truxis tires are great... They are 35's and make next to no road noise when new but get louder as they wear. They grip really great and do everything I use them for here in Louisiana. Yep.. I need to install some lockers but time and money have been going to a home remodel and a 72' Chevy that needs attention. |

What/how much lift did you use to fit the 35's? The wheels stock GM 15x8's? Last edited by Dooley; 04-29-2008 at 09:53 PM. |

Re: GMC Jimmy photo
You are corrext about stock GM wheels. The lift was a 4" super lift all the way around but the back leaf springs sagged so bad that it was higher in the front than in the back. So I changed the rear lift to blocks for 6".
So it's 6" in the back and 4" in the front but only because of the worn out leaf springs. |

Re: GMC Jimmy photo
I would like to try a set of 315/75/16 BFG Mudders on 8'wide rims without a lift on the CUCV pickup I just bought. I've run 33/12.50's for years on other GM trucks/suburbans without a lift or problems but would like some more tire diameter to offset the 4.56 rears on this truck. Not sure they will clear on the front.

Re: GMC Jimmy photo
I also have a body lift for that truck that I was thinking about installing to get a couple more inches of lift but I hear mixed opinions about them.
Yep... Those 4.56's are nice I bet. |

Re: GMC Jimmy photo
Sweet looking ride. I really like that soft top and the lift and tires look awesome on there too!

Re: GMC Jimmy photo
Thanks.... WHat I really want now is a bumper that has a swing out for for the spare tire. That thing takes up so much room in the back.
