Re: Project... Tinker !!!

Well after researching some stuff on my 283, I wasn't gonna have the CR that I want
So I dug out a old engine that I got from GringoLoco last year (sposed to be a good engine, maybe needed to be rebuilt) & I pulled the heads off to see what kind of shape it was in

Low compression POS pistons

So I decided that I would pull the pan & check out the crank

Come to find out, its a 4-bolt main

So its a good block to rebuild & start fresh with one of these days

Re: Project... Tinker !!!

The engine I got from Gringo had a bad timing chain too

So I got the caps off everything on the crank & it looked good, so I decided to put it in the engine that came out of my 84 I used to have
The 84's engine had an ate up the crank

Dont use too much silicone kids

But the 84's engine had good pistons & you can still see the hone marks

Re: Project... Tinker !!!

The Cylinders atleast need to be honed, there is some pretty good wear from the pistons. What's that "dent" in the right cylinder at about 7 o'clock on the first ring?
