I have run across a few door locks that didn't have codes on them but in 25 years of servicing locks on trucks I can count the number of times on one hand.... I think it may be because all of the locks may have been replaced at one time and some replacements had a code tag on the key ring instead of being stamped on the lock cylinder. LockDoc
