Foot well patch
I'm getting ready to replace the rusted areas on my 66. I can find the replacement rockers and floor patches, but can't determine if they make patches for the foot wells. It looks like there are some for the 67-72 trucks. I don't know how close they would fit though. My last project was a 65 Nova wagon that I had to make many repair parts myself, it takes me way too long, I'd like to get repro parts for an easier way to start.
Will the 67-72 patches work? Anyone have any experience or tips to share? Chopper |

Re: Foot well patch
Check with: www.classicparts.com
http://www.classicparts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=44-119 http://www.classicparts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=44-120 They are called inner lower cowl panels, left & right. They are $14.95 each, plus tax and shipping. I have used them and they don't fit real well, however, they are better than starting from scratch. Good luck with your project and I hope this information is helpful. |

Re: Foot well patch
Update: A couple days ago I ordered up the last of the parts I needed for my 66. I ordered the footwell panels along with some other things. Yesterday I got a call as they were putting my order together for shipment. They wanted to know if I wanted the correct parts. They now have them for 66 and earlier trucks. The foot well panels just got put into their computer. They were twice as much, but if they fit it will be worth it. It's just about time for the fun to begin. Goodbye rust.

Re: Foot well patch
You may discover, as many others have, including myself, that the reproduction inner kick panels are less than desireable in fitment and quality. They will require a fair amount of massaging to fit properly. In any case, keep us posted with your project via photos and good luck.

Re: Foot well patch
Here's the patch in place. Nice fit. It will take a little trimming for the new rocker to fit over it, not much though. I wish the floor patch was as nice.
