Differential springs/coils

What about the differential. My truck has leaf springs on it and i want to convert to coils. Do i need a new differential or will the trailing arms bolt up to where the springs used to be?

I just completed that conversion. Once you remove the leafs and all of the brackets including the upper shock brackets you will then realize that the rear ends are different. Leaf rear ends have lower shock brackets welded and does not require to have a rear track bar. Trailing Arms on the other hand, have brackets that the lower shock mount and the Trailing Arm gets U-bolted to. Also, there's a bracket on the Coils frame and a stud that comes off the Coils rear end that the rear track bar attaches to. This keeps the rear end from going side to side. Note: The Coils rear end brackets mentioned above also set the correct pinion angle for you drive shaft.

Yes, There are differences between a leaf spring frame and a coil spring frame. There are extra frame parts you'll need for the conversion But, I completed mine and I think it was well worth the time and effort. Good Luck, Harry If you have other questions, PM Me.
