Hi everyone. Thought you all might be able to help me with a question. I have a line for buying a LS2 engine out of a 06 Trailblazer SS AWD. My plans are to put a new intake manifold, carb and all other parts to make it run. When talking with the guy who has it for sale he was concerned that I wouldnt be able to do this because of 'high tech' parts by the oil pan? He also said the oil pan has a hole through it for the front axle. So maybe I need a new oil pan? Is the GTO LS2 really that different? Has anyone done this sway yet? All the info I've read says it's possible and not all that hard with the correct knowledge and tools. What do you think???

I think it can be done, as there are plenty of people mounting LS1s, 2s,.... in these trucks. There are even people mounting Cummins and Duramax diesel motors in these trucks.

All it takes is the knowledge and the know-how. I have often wondered this as well, so I wish you the best and I'll let some others chime in on this.

Another thought, there was someone on the board that was going to try to mount the front/rear suspension and motor from a C5 Corvette, but it was going to be heavy modification.

I think all AWD '72 would be sweet!!!

I've been reading as much info as I can and it seems like it can be done. I agree a 72 AWD would be cool. I just want 2wd. What transmission are you guys running with a LS2(carb) or recommend running?

Does the motor run? I have two ideas of "run".... Run = starting up OR
Run = like a raped ape?

Why do you need to replace the intake & carb, what do you mean by, "all other parts"?

It can definitly be done and it is quite a bit of work, how mechanically inclined are you?

Do as much research as you can to make all the fuel injected components operable ---
it will take some fuel system modifications and you will have to retain the computer but it will be worth it

Putting a carb on a stock LS motor is taking a step forward and backward at the same time
