I'm about ready to stuff my Summit 16gal cell under the bed and I was wonderin. I know some of you guys have these tanks since the pics are all over, how did you gain access to the filler in the center of the top? I want it to look good since my bed is all done up, and I don't run a tonneau, so that pretty much rules out going to town with the skillsaw and just wackin a hole in there.

Help me out, I need to get this thing in before the panhard rod wacks a hole in the Scout II tank that's under there now.

You guys must have self serve gas stations where your at ? I would not trust any of these gas jockeys in oregon they cant seem to ever get my gas cap on right let alone gas on the paint....Wish we had self serve in oregon.

The first cap you dont have to take off to put gas in. Just stick it through the little spring loaded hole in the center of the cap.

Gas jockey's? You still have those? Everything around here is self serve, hard to find a place with service anymore.

I believe that Oregon is the only state where people can't pump their own gas. You have a paid attendant that does it for you. They really throw up a stink if you try to do it yourself.

Can you imagin living you life and never having to pump your own gas? Sorry guys just poking a little fun.

Mudder great pictures of gas tank fillers. I will be doing that soon so ideas are great.

It is against the law, with very few exceptions.

We have two full serice stations in my hometown. My first job was as a pumpjockey/lube-oil-filter monkey at the Texaco. I didn't get paid much, but having airtools and a lift at my disposal was more than worth the low pay. And getting gasoline at cost (it was about $.65 a gallon then) was a definite bonus.

How much clearance do you have from the bottom of cell to the ground on a stock height truck?

Us and New Jersey are the only two states where you can't pump your own gas. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it gives me a job..

(Gas jockey at Texaco in Garabaldi, OR.. can't say I've ever spilled even a drop on ANY car.. attempting to quit though, the job sucks, as does the boss).

I like the first filler you posted, it looks cool.

I think you can get the cap with the spring loaded opening from Hagens or julianos they are street rod items or at least thats where i saw them ....

Yep the spring loaded cap is a street rod part. The stainless or chrome is a marine filler and can be found at most boat places. Check around theres more than one. The first one I got was plastic. I have a body lift on my truck. The tank sits about level with the top of the frame and, its about 3 inches from the frame and bottom of bed.
