stepside bed question

will a 73-87 stepside box interchange with a 67-72, I believe i know where one off of a 81 is i can get cheap.. im thinkin about building me up an orginal stepper,

Seen them installed but body lines makes everything look strange. Better off staying with proper year groups. MHO.

you can ditch the 73-87 fenders and put on 67-72 re-pop stepside fenders if the box is nice enough

The basic bed box is the same from the 50's through the 80's

thats what i was refering to, just using the newer box with correct repop fenders, will everything else work out the same?? Length width??im considering building me a mildl custom orginal step and ditching the 96 bed on to another project

I think you will probally have to redrill the cross supports for mounting the bed. I think the frame widths are different.

hmmm i may just look into finding an original box and building the entire bed
