Hey guys, I have been really impressed with the available knowledge that this forum contains. I have been able to fix about ten things since the purchase of my 1971 C10, 2WD, SBC, Auto, Short bed about 2 weeks ago.

One thing that really came to mind when I was thinking of replacement parts.
HEADERS...

Can you guys list various types/models that you have on your trucks. I am looking to find a set that fit right off the shelf and require no grinding or mods to the frame. Performance kept in mind.

Ohh... I saw an article at www.hotrod.com for the summit G9006 headers. Has anyone had first hand experience with these?

With performance in mind get a pair of hooker comp or super comps

If price is a bigger issue, that summit pair will do the job just fine too.

I installed a set of Sanderson's. They are expensive but fit really well, have a nice ceramic coating. I installed them with RTV as directed no gaskets and they don't leak so far after 1,000 miles.

I really like the looks and fit from what I can see of the Sanderson Headers. Do you remember the part number? Thanks

I'm running the Hooker Comps on mine. No leaking issues. I ran them til they were good and hot, let them cool down, re-tightened all of the bolts, and never had an issue. They fit right the fist time, with no mods. There are cheaper out there, like Summit, or Flowtechs. But I've always ran Hookers on all my rides. Not sure of the part number, but mine are the comps, with 2.5" collectors.

I called them and asked for the short headers for my C-10, not sure of the part number. I had long tube 1 7/8" headers on this truck before, but this mild 350 is happier with these 1 5/8" headers, ymmv...

Check the headers from www.earlyclassic.com, they are Sandersons made for Early Classic. Very nice

I am running the Sanderson's purchased from Early Classic as well. No routing issues at all. Highly recommend both the headers and Early Classic!

I had a pair of Hooker comps that no matter what I did, I could never get them to seal right, even with those pricey crush-style aluminum gaskets. They were the second pair of headers that leaked on that motor though (first were cheapy blackjacks), so the heads may have been slightly warped. I got mine from northernautoparts.com and I think they were only 160-175 $ shipped. I was 17 at the time and didnt mind changing header gaskets every month or two for that price =)

I've got Flowtechs on my truck, but I'd choose Hookers the second time around. Cheap headers suck.
