Ensuing Blazer Build
With the latest blazer build getting moved up to 'GO' status, I'm looking into suspension seats for it.
Hoping to get some real world input, those who are running them please post up. This build is all about driving the truck, so long term comfort is a must. Comfort, quality and cost are the big three, with location due to shipping in there too. Pics would be great if ya got em. |

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
If you're talking comfort, you must be thinking about a long trip.
I'm looking forward to seeing these concepts as well...haven't decided on seats yet either.

Even short term daily driver comfort is mandatory but keeping my arse comfy for that trip to Mich. will definitely be a bonus. Tranny's at the shop, found an axle set, found some tires...gonna hit the go button soon! |

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
Sweet. What was the final decision on the drivetrain and the lift/tire combo?

Found a set of 37" MT/R's for the rubber. So I guess it's getting a 6" lift now. This combo nets out a 79:1 1st gear crawl and will run at around 1900rpm on the highway. |

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
Those are some sweet specs. Not that it matters in this type of ride but it should net some decent mpg... How nice is this one going to be? Green one nice or blue one nice? Or is it some place in between?

Decent paint job in the end but I really wanna build this one to drive it and simply enjoy it. More of a resto mod than anything, so yeah...somthing in between. |

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
I would never even consider anything other then suspension seats. Yes, the big leather GM seats are nice and comfy, but a suspension will give you the support and safety that a production seat cant. Just my opinion. Here are mine. They are the PRP seats. You can choose any size, shape, style and color. Customize to suit your needs.

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
...........oh yeah, cost can vary big time. These are upward of $1k for all three, but I have upgraded material and the headrests. You can get a set like this in cloth for closer to $700 or so (guessing).

Do you have a price range you are working with for the seats?

I'll check out their web-site today. Thanks for the pics. Quote:
Absolutely! If I mounted em that way feel free to raz. Doing something a little different though, so you might not get the chance. Give or take 1K works, depending on the product. |

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
After seeing pics of the cage and seat mounts on Kurt's wheeling rig, I doubt he'd mount them using washers and sheetmetal screws. That being said, I wish my PO had some common sense. Almost every seat mount bolt AND seat belt bolt was held in with just a washer and a bolt thru the sheetmetal. This also includes several 10" bolts going all the way thru the torsion boxes The factory mounts are all stripped. Needless to say, I'll be fabbing some plates out of 1/8" flat stock when I reinstall the interior.

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
Thanks for all the input guys, this stuff is way fun!
Luv scheming for the next build. Talked with PRP seating already and now I need to sit down and figure out fabric type & color choices. For suspension, after some e-mail replies, I'm leaning towards doing 52's up front and a set of 56's in the rear. Going with DIY's "beyond 52" bracket to mount em and 4" lift springs with a shackle flip for the rears. As I understand it, this combo will give a great ride. |

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
PRP should be able to send you fabric samples for the "real time feel".

Re: Ensuing Blazer Build
If you go on pirate4x4 under the for sale section there are a few vendors having sales, no shipping, etc. on prp and corbeau seats. I think it would be worth checking out.
