This is probably a dumb question but what makes tow hooks like these so expensive?

No thanks, go ahead and sell yours and then contact me when you are ready. I usually have multiple sets of all three types of factory hooks available. Lmk, Cb

Not to hi-jack, but....

A. Because they look sweet.
B. Because not everybody has them.

But seriously, they were an option on a truck almost 40 years ago. Being an option, not all trucks had them, making them somewhat rare. I would think that at some point in time, some were broken or scraped with a truck; causing there to be less of them as time goes on. Also, if you have a 4wd truck, it's nice to have a mounting point on the front just in case.

I think they look sweet, and they are a nice option to have. Its like a supply and demand curve; supply is down, demand is up. When demand is up, the price is up as well. I could see prices going down if tons start coming out and becoming available for sale. Prices could also go down if someone starts reproducing them.
