68 and 72 at Mission Raceway
hey there guys
I was at Mission Raceway today for the highschool drags just thought id share some of the trucks that were there today the first one is my dads friends 72 cheyenne factory 4x4 350/350th he is the shop teacher for earl marriot secondary he uses it to pull their malibu the second is a 68 sb flat black i didnt see what the motor or anything was we were pretty much hot lapping them today so it was always gone it ran mid 12's my dad is also friends with the shop teacher darren from aldergrove secondary they have a 69 chevelle 427 that is art morrison backhalfed. today i was buying food, and i saw there was smoke coming from the hood so i thought it was just overheating but then i saw flames coming from the scoop. so i ran over and me and another student quickly took the hood off and flames were everywhere. it was half way up the ramps of the car trailer so darren yanked it off and rolled it off the grass (on fire) and we eventually got the fire out. what happened was the fuel rail was leaking and was collecting on the back of the intake and with the open headers some fell on, ignited and lit the whole engine. it should be fixed soon tho someone also had a NOS bottle let loose that was sitting on the ground between his kenworth and matching trailer and dented it in between there but luckily it didnt come out from there or someone would have been seriously injured other than that it was a good day sorry for the long post cheers

Cool to see two trucks doing their jobs.Does your dad`s have 16.5 rims?I know they were made back when these trucks were sold.
