Do Any Vendors still carry woodgrain door panel inserts, 1972?
It seems like I've checked so many places but no one's website lists them anymore that I can find. Does anyone know (or any vendors have) the 1972 deluxe woodgrain door panel inserts? besides LMC?
I'd prefer new ones. Thanks!

Re: Do Any Vendors still carry woodgrain door panel inserts, 1972?
Cstanley Jordan owned the GM tooling for the door panel insert, it was given to a manufacturer who produced the part for them, about 1 year ago 1 side of the tooling was lost somehow and its never been found and to my knowledge they still do not want to have to pay the high cost of re-tooling to make the missing side. So the only 1 available is the cheap looking ill fitting knock-off in my opinion of the part that LMC carries, since the majority of verndors know how badly the LMC one fits no one buys from that manufacturer other than LMC so sorry to say LMC is the only current source.

thanks a bunch for the insight. i was wondering why LMC was the only one that seemed to be carrying them, but that makes perfect sense. I think i'll just try to do something with my old ones or continue running without them altogether...

I wonder what it would take for a company to set up a refinishing program redoing the photostatic woodgrain.I`d hate throwing away a good panel insert just because it`s scratched or faded. The "need" isn`t for the expensively tooled aluminum panel,it`s a need for a nrew finish. The same goes for the glovebox door.

yes, that seems ideal. time being, I'm just going to run with the tooled vinyl look. there's no way i'm going to knowingly purchase an inferior product, even if it's the only one out there...

I'd call Jerry Brown at the Truck Shop in TN before giving up
