Anyone have a fix for this?? maybe some pics??

my doors have 'seperated' some. Kind of bowed out in the middle. Its throwing my window rubber off alot. I can get a clamp and through the vent window and pull it back together, i guess i'll have to weld some sort of brace in the door.

Anyone run across this, or run across a fix??

I guess the 72 doors had the little dimple on the inside with a screw that went to the outer skin that helped this. Thats the 2nd pic.

Maybe anone have a pic of what the side of the 72 doors look like??

Take the vent window out and weld it back.

You are certainly not the only one, that's why they "fixed" it....in '72.
Some real genius there huh, a "one year" fix, then major change in '73.

Welding something in there is probably the best way to go.

Yup, it's like uncle stated above. if you pull the window and take the vent window loose and rotate the whole vent window assembly 90 degrees,
you can look down inside the door and see the two tabs from the inside and outside halves of the door. they are about an inch long. they are spot welded together. sometimes the spot weld breaks, and sometimes the tab breaks. oh and since its about an inch or more inside the door its real fun trying to weld it and not weld on the skin of the door. best of luck!!!

Rubber on chrome bead trim needs to be trimed off at the back edge of the vent frame, also make sure the bead trim is not too long, I always end up cutting them off some as they are usually too long, that may help some.

Re: Anyone have a fix for this?? maybe some pics??

Yeah, i trimmed it up last night. It helped alot. But still about a 1/4 inch gap

I havn't figured out exactly what or how i'm going to weld a bracket in there. I'm going to put my sway bar on tonight, hopfully i'll have some time to go ahead and fix the doors.

Thanks
