mufflers blew apart
I had a set of edelbrock stainless mufflers that i bought back in feb. of 07 with less than 200 miles on them and they just blew apart. I have receipts and original boxes and edelbrock warranty dept. giving me run around on replacing them. There's only one guy in the warranty dept. and he keeps saying that he'll take the pictures to the exhaust dept and he'll get back with me. He never calls back and everytime i call there's either no answer and goes to voicemail, or he'll answer and say i'll get with exhaust dept. These mufflers have lifetime warranty i don't know what the big deal is. Anyway neighbor just gave me a fairly new pair of magnaflows with 3" inlet/outlet. Hope they flow as good as the ones i had. Anybody run magnaflows?

Re: mufflers blew apart
From what I hear, the MagnaFlows work very well. They have better flow numbers than the Edelbrock, Flowmaster or Hooker muffler. Sorry to hear Edelbrock is giving you the run around, a friend of mine is having problems with Edelbrock on warrantying his overpriced Thunder Series carb.....Good Luck

Re: mufflers blew apart
You didn't try the flame thrower trick where you get up to highway speed, turn the key to the off position for a few seconds, then turn it back on....did you ?
Just kidding. |

Re: mufflers blew apart
lol, no haven't done that since i was kid in my dad's town car. Engine is running perfect no backfires ever. They did ask me what my compression is and what heads i have. Told them 11.5 to 1 with good set of iron heads. What does it matter, it doesn't say not recommended for 11 to 1 or higher comp. If i knew that i wouldn't of bought them.

Re: mufflers blew apart
Well i got everything worked out with edelbrock, there sending me some new std mufflers 3" in and 3" out. I guess that i'll probably sell them being i got the new magnaflows on today. They sound pretty good, not as loud as my rpm edelbrock mufflers. Seams like truck slowed down though, mabey because it's quieter.

Re: mufflers blew apart
I'm running dual Magna flows. Sound great!! They come to life above 2400 RPMs. They are nice at 2000 RPMs. Low back tone without being annoying.
