tranny swap

I am sure you have all heard this one before, but could you tell me if i can swap out a powerglide to a 350 without any problems in my c20. it just seems that the powerglide it winding out on the rpms, is that normal

tran swap

as long as youve got a short tail 350 an the braket for the kick down cable at the carb should be no problem, but this more than likely is gonna not change your final rpm s in drive if it does at all it would not be enough to notice, you my want to find a 700r4 and cut the drive shaft and asome other mods to the trans for shifting and lock up

ok since we are talking tranny swaps. what all would i need (hopefully nothing to trade out my TH4oo for a 700R4. i have a 454 BBC. but am in the process of getting a small block.
any help would be appreciated.

I have heard that the 2004r is a better choice than the 700- thev ran 200 's in those turbocharged buick grand nationals.
they have a lower 1st gear, and are the same size ,shape as a turbo 350.
I just havent met anyone who has used a 700 and been super succesful- lots of $$$ and lots of problems, were the three instances I have expierenced.
