You should do a search on this topic. I know I have several threads of my own on this.

Re: BACKSPACING for 20's?

I think if you're going to go that big, you will have to modify the bed floor/fender wells, and you might have to remove the front inner fenders. There's a few members that are running 22's so while searching keep your eye open for that as well.

You need to measure your own truck to ensure the BS is right; everything else is just a guess.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Thumbs up Re: BACKSPACING for 20's?

I been doing alottah reasearch myself & this guy has a ford 9' rear.
when u change the rear u get mo outer lip.(i guess)

This one here seem to have the stock rear(judge'n from the rim lip).

I think i'll take SCOTI advice and measure my own before i spend $3000+ on some BIGG BILLETS!!

Re: BACKSPACING for 20's?

A narrower rearend will allow for a larger dia. wheel. At a show last year, there was a guy that was running a Lincoln Continental rear end in a '68, to gain an inch for the 22's he was running out back. According to him he wasn't going to have to modify the beds/fender wells.
