59/60 Impala Dash and A/C??? Who has both???

I know there are a few running around with those dashes so what a/c unit did you use? I am would think a vintage kit would work but I am not sure.
Thanks

The ones I have seen use the under dash unit. The Vintage Air one looks pretty nice.

I just wonder about the fit since the dash will need to have some depth taken out. Surley something will work

Re: 59/60 Impala Dash and A/C??? Who has both???

I've never done one so others will have to comment, but my memories of the era tell me that it has to be narrowed and there's a substantial amount of the area in front of the indentations that is history. Those cars had huge dashboards and a lot of windshield that our trucks just don't have.

The yellow one seems to have had more removed in the center, than the orange one. But both seem to be narrower than as designed originally. That does away with the factory radio. Seems like the ends have had some surgery, too. But A/C at the time was an add-on, not something that was integrel. They may have had some outboard vents, but they didn't have the system built-in to the dash as we have become acustomed since the '63 Chevies came out.

No they are not reproduced, and I am sure there are some decent cutting involved. These dash are really thick and will have to be cut back to allow of leg room. I know my dad put one in a 69 camaro and had to add to the length side to side.
