Correct. I don't know what you mean by 'hang down' though, they bolt to the crossmember and frame just like the 67-72 mounts. Basically at a 45* angle like this: ]\_

Nope. I tried that and they contact at the first primary on both sides.

The mounts can be had from any JY for basically nothing, so you come out better in the end, with a modern clamshell mount and nice, cheap headers...

Re: headers for bagged trucks

Doh! I'm a Fu*ktard. The passenger side is perfect. Tucks right up above the bottom of the framerail. I sectioned about 1" out of the driver's collector to help it tuck better, but it's not necessary.

Re: headers for bagged trucks

Ta heck with the small stuff! what I need to find are some mid length BBC headers, with at least 2" primaries. I am sure they would sell if someone actually made them!
If anyone knows of such an item I'd be all over it like Oprah on a blue smartie.

Re: headers for bagged trucks

Hmmm... spending thousands on fabricated parts to lower the truck. Hoping to find a $99 pair of bolt-on headers that don't drag the ground, and have exceptional performance characteristics...

Time to fab some up.

Re: headers for bagged trucks

I used block huggers on mine, with the future thought of bagg'n the truck.

I had to modify the mounts a little...but the flanges and pipes are WAY UP THERE.

Obviously bolt on is easier....but when you have more time than money, thats how it goes !!
