Now that it's getting hot (no A/C) I sure can feel the heat beating down on my neck when the sun's behind me. There's a lot of glass on those large windows and I need to keep the sun out.

I could put some of that window tinting plastic but I'm not sure that would help much. Or maybe it would -I've never used it so I don't know.

Any ideas out there?

Those big stickers that people put in their windows, with the flag or w/e on them, but you can still see through them from the inside, they just let less light in from the back, and you can't see in from outside

Tint helps. I've always had a tint shop do mine. forgot what shade but my back is pretty dark and the sides are tinted the darkest to pass.

I guess that might work, but I'm not sure I want to put any pictures or lettering on the window. The problem is when I am returning from my out of town property. I usually leave around 5 or 5:30 pm and drive for 20 miles with the sun on my back.

I've kicked around the idea of making some sort of screen like we have on houses to reduce the amount of sun hitting the glass. I could use magnets to hold it in place.

If any one has better suggestions I sure would appreciate any input.

Whats the going price for tinting the rear window? If it helps I'd rather try.

I think (2years ago) my extended cab for back, sides, and doors was $120 and my guy will fix it for free if have any problems.

Yeah, Window tint will fix ya right up. 35% (darkest legal on the sides in Tx) on the side windows if ya want them done, and 20% on the back, is a good balance between being effective and not too dark, IMHO.

Only use an installer that uses Lumar or 3M tint. Both are high quality products and will last for many years. Cheap tint will turn purple in Texas sun. Quality film is worth paying for.

Like GRIMSS said, you should be able to get the five windows done for around $150, and the back one for less than $100, since it's the easiest. The wing windows are a sum***** to make look good, so they might charge more for having to mess with them.

I get double ply on the back window.Side tint doesn`t mean much w/o air since the windows will be open.

I got 15% on the sides and back with 35% on the windshield for 150. That was 4-5 years ago and no bubbles or any harrasment from the cops (even though its quite a bit darker than legal). It cooled the cab down very noticeably in the Vegas summer and REALLY made the body colors dramatic. I love it.
