fuel tank questions/thoughts??

What do you guys think about these 2 tanks, I know some are going to say no to the plastic fuelcell while others are going to say no big deal. My only thought is (if my measurements were good, was in a hurry this morning) my available space is 17 1/4x 27 1/2 to drop a tank between the rails. If I remove that rail like you have to on all these, can I move the forward or most aft one 1inch to make the second tank listed work??

Hey DirtyJack, I happen to know where there is a new aluminum tank made to fit the 67 to 72 trucks for alot less than the $500 you mention. If interested, shoot me a PM.

I like the looks of the fuel cell. I might end up running something poly for mine when I get to that point. The price is certainly nice.

Re: fuel tank questions/thoughts??

I used an aluminum one because it came with my project, I did some major mods like adding a filler neck, in tank fuel pump (fuel Injection) and relocated the sending unit. here is what I have.

Re: fuel tank questions/thoughts??

I thought I did but I can't find any good ones. I put the bed back on the frame so I can't take anymore right now...

Re: fuel tank questions/thoughts??

I have 2 saddle tanks for a long bed that I don't need. The filler is in the wheel well so you don't have to cut the bed.

Re: fuel tank questions/thoughts??

I just ordered this tank. The dimensions are almost perfect and it already has a fill tube. All I'll need is the sending unit and I'm set. It looks like it should mount up pretty easily. The only draw back is the capacity. It only holds 14 gallons, but then again, this isn't going to be a daily driver.
