What bugs me is when stuff happens like on those N.O.S. sport mirrors that just came up for sale this morning. The responses went like this:
1)PM sent
2)Are these still available
3)I will take them as the first affirmative responder in the thread...(my response)
$)Mirrors sold to...(see #1)

I hate that crap. What`s the big secret? Why can`t a guy just post that he`ll take them?I really think it should be a rule to keep all initial responses in the thread. Then, came become private once it`s no one else`s business. But,how do we know what the PM was?How do we know it is an affirmative purchase? How do we know if it didn`t take three or four PMs before an affirmative sale was made?Meanwhile in the thread there is an unconditional commitment to the piece at the offered price. For all I know the guy bought them for less than asking price when minutes later the seller could have gotten his price to someone who openly committed.I figured I already missed them,,but still tryed and at least felt I`d make a point, like I am now.Yeah,I`m AGRV8D2.
They were sold to the first person who responded in the thread. It doesn't matter that he sent a PM or what was said...he acknowledged it in the thread.

Obviously you missed the whole point. It was posted in the thread after the fact. The first response was "PM sent".How do we know the pm wasn`t a wudjatake, can I see other pictures,or some other non-affirmative response?Maybe it would help if you could give an explanation as to why a private message is necessary.I sure can`t imagine any reason.Like the guy before that simply asked,"Are these still available?"I don`t feel he put a claim on them ahead of me.If he had said,"I`ll take these if they are still available",it would have put him ahead of me.Understand?I just think it makes for sloppy rules of engagement and the point of rules if to take out the slop, that`s all.I think most guys would agree.
It`s only parts and I`ll find others.I already have a N.O.S. passenger mirror. So,I`m not gonna cry over a pair I didn`t really need,or one that I did,for that matter.Just making a point that I hope would help improve this site.
This is a suspension parts thread and I know this has become off topic,so maybe this should just come up in the correct place.I just brought it up in making piece with a fellow mwmber, who is cool about it.
