Re: 67 Grille Ideas --Please Vote--
I am going shaved letters, cowl hood chrome on body colored grill and a roll pan to match the body color on my 67. The 70 will get a 68 clip and will wind up looking like number 2 or 3.

Although I voted for #4 awhile back, yours is one of the very few that look good the way it came as a '69-'70 front end! I say leave it and just polish the heck out of it and work on my truck!

#1 or #6... Have some pride in your ride and don't roll without your colors. Gotta keep the bowtie.

Re: 67 Grille Ideas --Please Vote--
I voted #6. I like the way that it looks. Lose the letters, but gotta keep the bowtie IMO. I really like the way that it looks with the driving lights in the bumper. Good luck with your decision. Looks like a couple of the ideas are neck and neck! ...Joe

Re: 67 Grille Ideas --Please Vote--
OK Im going to totaly mess with your brain here. How about you graft some round marker lights into the center bar? i dont have photoshop to do it for you but i can tell you 66 international scout has 2" round back up lights with clear lens and a chrome ring. I used some on a 91 s10 pickup along with a round headlight swap in an attempt to make it retro. Let me attempt a photo chop to show you what i mean.
OK I know its a crappy chop but I used MS paint as I dont have photoshop anymore. The key would be finding the lights the right size with a chrome benzel around them suck as jeep CJ front marker lights or the scout lights. I know you said could be stock was your theme but subtle mods that keep with the 60's-70's era can make huge statments and still subtle. Im sure this would be a super simple mod for you, and the trim could be cut and not need rechromed if you found the right chrome benzel. I also prefer to make lights match round with round square with square. Just an idea. Last edited by original_balzer; 05-26-2008 at 12:31 PM. |

Re: 67 Grille Ideas --Please Vote--
I voted for #1. I like the look without the letters and bowtie but I have always liked having the stock look even more. Everyone seems to shave the hood letters now anyway. That's how I plan on keeping my '68 when I rebuild it. You could try something like what this guy did and do this, maybe arrange the letters to say something else or make your own letters.

Re: 67 Grille Ideas --Please Vote--
i didn't read all of the posts in this thread, but i like stock, but with a roll pan.
i just got done putting my 68 clip on today with all new stock chrome and am kinda kicking myself for not doing a roll pan. I've already painted the truck so it's too late unless i want a bolt in roll pan. |
