Shifter Options? What is everyone using with their T56 Transmission?

I have the opportunity to purchase a 6-spd tranny out of a '05 GTO for $700.00 bucks. I'm looking to utilize this in my '69 I'm tired of shifting gears with my original 4-spd trans. But i'm not to sure whats all needed to make this work. I'm also concerned with the shifter length and location I have buddy buckets in my truck and the original shifter comes pretty close to the center seat. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Little help here please? Or can anybody move this to the right section? I really want to know if this can work or not.

I am planning on a T-56 for my truck...but I dont know what shifter will work. We already know a car shifter isnt going to work. It would be too short. I guess a shifter would have to be fabbed up I guess.

Hey Sierra I'm interested too, but nobody answered my posts about the T-56 either. Call the people at Keisler Engineering or Kugel Components for more info. They set me straight on a few things, but I still don't klnow what I'm going to do about a shifter.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience, well......that comes from bad judgment.

1968 Chevy C-10 "Longshot": Bought used from my Uncle George in 1994 and proceeding to beat the hell out of it for 4 years. Sold it. Bought it back, dumped an ungodly amount of money into it since then.
