body and paint guys I have a question
Whats the tool used to weld the little wires on to use the slide hammer and pull dents? Is there a specific name? i tried searching for it an found nothing. does anyone offer a kit that would have the welding end and the slide hammer that matches?
Also whats a good company or web site to get body working tools and supplies? I have tried doing body work in the past with fairly good results, but having the proper tools MAY make it much easier. In the past I used harbor freight dollies and hammers ect. You know the "one time use" tools. Thanks in advace. |

its either called a nail gun or a stud gun. search autobody tool mart in google. they have some good stuff ofr reasonable prices. also look at eastwood.

What you are looking for is a "Stud Welder". IIRC- Snap On or Mac sells one for a bloody fortune. Check with Eastwood (Link Below)- they have pretty good stuff for reasonable prices.

Easy,cause those stud get HOT. I've burnt my fingers so many times,can't quit touching them.

Ok looking at that I cant tell if the stud welder attaches to and uses a real welder or is a all in one unit? Does anyone know?

That's the one I have from Harbor Frieght, its made by Chicago Electric. It works pretty good.

you just plug it into a 110 outlet. it has nothing to do with your welder... unless you pu holes in the panel. i would go with one from eastwood before i would go with a harbor freight one. the one we use from eastwood is awesome. can do shrinks with it too. the harbor freight one heats up too fast.

they also make a slide/ pull bar that is, in itself a stud welder the end of the slide welds to the panel its kinda pricey but well worth it if u ask me, its made by LENCO not sure where, online, to get one but any snap-on man will be more than happy to help u find one. and durablock and 3M make good soft and hard pad sanding blocks there all pretty reasonable.
