How many MPG should I get?

if it smlls rich, than it is considerably rich.
Even though I have the same gearing... I highly recomend getting something that'll keep the revs down. A caddy will stomp right over a 3.07 gear, take off almost as good as it does now, but not scream on the road. That's where the cad motor shines so well.

Hey guys, I haven't been on in a few months. I've got a '69 1 Ton 2WD, built 350 with an SM465. I am CONVINCED that 80% of gas mileage is gearing and aerodynamics. These trucks are great looking, but about as aerodynamic as a cement truck! As for gearing, try having a 1 ton rear end and listen to people talk about 3.08 gears! I have 4.10's and that's all they make! To get my RPM down below 100,000 at 70, I have to go with an NV4500. If I do that, I'll drop 800 RPM!! Im sure I'll go from 12 MPG to around 15 at least. If I could fund it, I'd like to do a double O/D and add a gear vendors to the back of an NV4500, but that's a pipe dream.

Don't hold your breath on the 15 MPG. That's a bit of a reach.
