I've used it in maybe a dozen vehicles and it works as good as Hushmat. I have never used it on the roof.yet however One thing is you have to get a good roll. It does have a shelf life and does not want to stick if it sets around too long. It does not have an oder any more than any of the the brands we tried.We still use other brands Evercoat q pads also but if on a budget we have not had any problems with Peal and Seal. Like all of them if not deadening the sound enough you can add more. Sorry your experience was not good

If I were to do the roof, I think I'd go with a spray on type of material. It'd be just my luck that the stuff would peel off too.
