is this a good deal for my 67??

My neighbors dropped a 350bb in a monte carlo a while back..well it ended up sittin back in the woods last summer...it ran when put there...by now the other neighbors have pulled stuff off..battery cables junk like that...the motor has many performance parts...should i buy this and drop it in my 67 c10...it originally had a 250..will this motor just drop right in or will i have to make alot of changes to make it work...
Thanks, Will

well if it's been sitting there for a while, and you don't know the exact internals, you may want to avoid that; you may open a large can of worms for yourself. I think with swapping from 6 to 8, you may have to move the motor mounts and stuff like that, I've never done it before, sorry.

you mean sb right? It will bolt right in, you just move the engine mount towers one bolt hole foreward, and that's about it really.

Well, "if" it's a 350 AND it's a Big Block, then it ain't a Chevy engine.

Buick, Olds, and Pontiac, as well as (obviously) Chevy all made 350's - but the B.O.P. 350's are all considered to be Big Blocks.

Waht year Monte Carlo is it?

Can you post a pic? Not to be condescending, but are you familiar enough with Chevy engines to know what a small block looks like? I'd be a bit leary of someone that claims to have a 350 Big Block, myself.

The wheels probably wouldn't fit. Monte Carlo=5 lug and '67 C10=6 lug.

a 350 chevy (sb)will bolt right in on the 6/250 stands, the HEI dist will be a little tight next to the firewall, but fits. The monte will probably have the long waterpump that you need to locate the fan in "close to the right spot". To set up for sb position like the factory did, you will need to change the eng mount stands,as they are different than the 6/250 pcs. Also, the drive shaft will need to be swapped,as you will find it to be 3 1/2" too short if you use the v8 stands. As far as a good deal......I would try to get the eng running in the Monte, & see what it sounds like. Good luck....crazyL

Will. Its a small bock. Buy it if you want but do a little research first and figure out what it is exactly that they have. If theyre telling you its a big block it might not even be a 350. You could end up with a 305 or worse. If someone lies to you once then they'll lie to you twice. Either that or their just stupid. There are stupid people in the world Will. You might be living next to some. Don't feel bad. My neighbors arent too bright either. They drive Fords.

Ok i got the scoop...well its a 350 sb..they though it was a bb because of the size of the air filter..lol..its just a performance carb and has a bigger filter..i explained this to them and now they agree...im gonna see what they want for it tomorrow..

uhhh, I was going to say it could be an SS Monte with a 454 (that would be a big block) Before you buy it you might want to count the valve cover bolts off of one valve cover and post the results. that way we could tell you could tell for sure before you buy it.

uh, It depends on your definition of "Big". A 292 Is a pretty damn “big block” if you drop it on your foot and how big do you tell your girlfriend a “6” is?

Maybe I should have said, "Count the bolts off of just one of the two valve covers and get back to us"... Pete.
