still bouncy?

My k5 has a flip kit in the rear w/stock leaf springs (5 pack), 3" drop coils and 3" lca's, and new bell tech shocks all around. The ride is ok but it's seems to be really bouncy still? anybody else have the same problem? Every other truck I've owned rode rough, any suggestions on getting the bounce out?

Re: still bouncy?

How close are the bump stops???? Mine was rough too, as it was hitting the stops when hitting small bumps.....trimming a little off made a huge difference....shorter shocks with heavier dampening would help too. I had some Toxic shocks on my blue '80 and it rode nice....
Or you could C-notch the frame....

Re: still bouncy?

get a suspension shop to check your setup, could be that you have the wrong shocks.

Re: still bouncy?

Bouncy? or stiff? there is a huge difference.
Is the whole truck "bouncing" or is it just you in the seat?
The truck bounces from "soft" suspension that lacks dampening.
The passengers bounce in the seat from stiff suspension (banging or riding-on the bump stops)

Re: still bouncy?

its definitly not stiff, it kind of drives like an old cadillac that needs shocks.

Re: still bouncy?

Shocks? It sounds like they are too soft...are they adjustable?
Mounting position makes a difference in their effectiveness too. The closer the shock is to being aligned with the direction of wheel travel, the better it works. I have seen some set-ups where the shock mounts are moved "off-line" to allow them to fit. Meaning, a shock that is too long, could be used...but it's effectiveness compromised.
