Our Trucks Values

Ok guys... I've been away for about 4-5 years, my 72 has been sitting on it's throne in the garage, but I've recently been more and more anxious to drive it, so what I'm going to do is daily drive my truck...

Anyway, within these past four or five years that I have been away, what is the deal with the values of 67-72's???? It seems like mediocre trucks are going for 12,000 and up on ebay, short beds (bed only) are running a couple of thousand... Did the market really explode that fast?? I bought my perfectly straight short wide bed (bed only) for about $600, and i was antsy to give that much for it at the time, must've been in 2001... I mean we did a full frame off rodstoration, which I would have been pleased to get 12000 for it, but it seems now 12000 is a, like i said before, mediocre SWB truck...

Shed some light for me!

Just the animal of the day I guess. Folks have been seeing the greatness in our trucks lately and seem tio think everything is Haggerty material. Demand does raise the prices though. Glad tio see you back on baord again.

Re: Our Trucks Values

Depends on what kind of shape the truck is in and since you said you did a frame off resto on it that will make it pretty high in value. You said you were planning on using it as a daily driver now and that can cause the value to go down. It just depends on a whole variable of things: condition, location, how much it's driven, and how much someone is willing to pay for it. You should probably have it appraised.

Re: Our Trucks Values

Well lets see some pics of this thing!

I know what you mean though... With as much money as I've put in my 72, you'd think theres no way I'd make a profit if I sold it. It was a factory air 3/4 ton camper special with a 350 and a few nice options. Now its a 1/2 ton SWB with a BBC, and besides the vin, you'd hardly know it wasn't a super. The offers I've gotten on it are nothing short of insanity (i'd never sell it..its been the family for 30+ years), and many were while it was sitting in the garage on jack stands.

Re: Our Trucks Values

I was putting the timing chain back into my '71 when a guy drove by, drove round the block. He stopped by and told me hed give me 3 grand as she sat. That surprised me considering that old truck is FAR from a show truck (that and the fact I only paid 350 dollars for it in Feburary of 06)
