Rear relocation lines, rubber or steal??

Going to get my burb tank put in this weekend if the weater works right.

Is it that bad of an idea to run just regular old braided rubber fuel line up the frame? Or is steal more sane?? I'm going to run dual exaust and probably dump out right infront or behind the tires on my LWB 69, so i'm alittle concerned about heat getting to the lines.

Anyone have any opinions?? *thats probably the only actuall 'stupid question' on the board* LOL

I have always prefered steel,but then I am one of those crazy people that upgrades the brakes before the engine.

I was also thinking about hitting the man mall and yanking a fuel line system out of a 80ish burb, then just retro fit it. Then i would have an inline filter and such.

Any thoughts on that??

I hope to install some Aeroquip socketless hose (no clamps or crimping) this weekend. It's NHRA approved, and sounds like it just might be a little tricky getting the fittings into the hose, but seems like routing the hose should be an easy task.

Rubber works perfectly fine as long as you use rubber that is designed for use with Gasoline. Regular radiator flex hose will not work for long. Gas eats right through that stuff. WES

i used aluminum fuel line down the frame rail, easy to work with

I would just buy a 20' roll of steel hardline and a cheap bender. Buy some mounting tabs and use rubber fuel hose at the connections. Thats how they made em from the factory. As with any hose clamps, make sure you check on them here and agains for cracking or tiny leaks.

Theres a product called "Cool blue" which is a rubber fuel hose wrapped in a instulating material. It helps to prevent vapor lock and I have been using it for 5+ years and even in tight bends and what not, I have never heard of this stuff cracking. Its tougher to get onto a nipple fitting and its a little pricey, but its a happy medium between plain jane rubber hose and expensive braided/AN plumbing.

I would go with hardloine.... and no filters between the tank and pump... it can cause or agrivate vapor lock.

I used a stainless fridge freon line & rubber fuel line on the connections. Hard to bend but should last as long as a slow poke sucker.
