Bolt on performance....
Looking for more power out of my 5.7l and already have plans for cold air intake, throttle body spacer, chip and headers/exhaust....
What else can I do to get more power? I've been looking at some MSD distributors but I don't want to buy one and it not fit..... Any suggestions would be great... Thanks is advance... |

Re: Bolt on performance....
dont waste your money on a tb spacer, you wont gain anything. look at the vmax spacer, you should see some gain from that(from what ive read on other forums). just remember these are a dry intake sytem, so all you will do is increase volume, it wont do anything foir fuel atmoization. and if you do headers and some other mods, then go with a custom tune from westers/wait4me/wheatly just to to name a few. you can tell them your mods and they can flash your pcm for the mods or send a new 1 and you could always put your stock pcm back in. i know you said bolt on, but have you considered a cam? best bang for your buck in my opinion when you consider cost. when my new engines warranty is up in my suburban, im doing cam, headers and custom tune.

Re: Bolt on performance....
another thing you may want to look into is the marine intake swap.

Re: Bolt on performance....
Take a look at the multi-spark world and get something to ensure a comlete burn of your fuel in the cylinder. A good set of low resistance plug wires and a high voltage coil will up the HP and give you more help. I am running the MSD 6AL and their 8 MM plug wires with a blaster coil.
Do you have electric fans or a belt driven unit. The change over to the electric gives HP gains and smooths out the engine's idle and performance. I also gained some miles per gallon with the electric fan. |

Re: Bolt on performance....
Yeah I saw the biggest gains with my e-fans. Upped my MPG by almost 2 per tanks.
