Tach Dash Question

do any of you have a tach installed in your dash . If so what fits ? Theres a dash tach in the parts forum (says its from mid 80,s truck / what did they come in those years - 4 wheel drive or what. Didnt know there was an oem tach for 73- 87. this one only goes to 5000 rpms. And it goes where my oversize fuel guage is now.

Re: Dash Tach Question

I have one in my 77 longbed , one in my 78 tan shortbed , and one in the 77 bigblock shortbed I have . They are all 5 G tachs . I love the factory tach dashes . There is a link somewhere (maybe to 73-87.com) that shows the year breaks and what interchanges . Just search this forum and it should pop up . I think 80 and 81 had a diff font. There are also some issues with amp/volt and elect/manual oil pressure gauges . Definitely do the research before you spend to make sure you are getting one that will work in your year truck . Frank
