rally rim question ??? rim size

Hey guys I have a 96 2dr. tahoe ,I have the stock 16in rims with 265/70/16 tires, I was thinking about buying rally rims with derby caps (the old corvette style),but only found them in 15x7 or 15x8's in 6 lug, would this be a problem if I get them as far as axle ratio, and should I get the 15x7 or 15x8's .also will I have to make any changes to the brake cal. My stock rims/tirs measure 30in in height if I do get the 15 in rims what tire size would u suggest 31's.thanks

Re: rally rim question ??? rim size

Welcome to the board. Is your Tahoe 4WD or 2WD? As that may limit your wheel selections. Your tires are about 31.6" tall and a 31x10x15 would be 31 inches tall or about a 1/2 in shorter.

I had 31x10.50x15 on my 96 GMC on 8" ralleys and loved the combo.

I know Stockton wheel makes 16" vette ralleys and Ithink Wheel Vintiques does also.

I have OOBS rally's on my 92 Blazer. They are 15x8s, not the Vette but truck rally's. Can't think of the b/s, but with 32s on it I think it looks sweet.

Re: rally rim question ??? rim size

I think 15x8 truck ralleys have 4" back spacing. The only thing I could think of that might be a problem is if the 15" will clear the calipers on the front disk brakes. From what I remember the 4x4 rims typically have a bit more BS than the 2WD rims, so I don't think clearance (BSing anyways) will be an issue, just the clearance.
