Need spindle help

I bought a set of McGaughy's 2.5 inch drop spindles for 1.25 inch rotors. Got them from GMCPauls.com, which was awesome to work with by the way.

Anyways, the problem is that when we put the rotor on, the nut to hold it all together won't thread on enough to get the cotter pin through it. The only way to get it on far enough is to tighten it so tight that the rotor won't hardly spin anymore...

Anyone ever experienced this before? Im tempted to just use a smaller nut that isn't as long, but it seems to me that something is actually wrong here, and that it shouldn't happen that way. The rotor seems to be going on all the way, cuz we didn't have any problems getting the calipers on, so I'm not sure.

One thought is that the hole on the spindle shaft for the cotter pin is set farther back on the threads than the stock one was?

I would go check that, but I'm at work right now and can't get to it till after, but it's been bugging me all day!

Can anyone help? Similar experiences?

Do you think you accidently got the spindles for 1.00" rotors???

I thought about that as well, but I matched the part number stamped on the spindle to the part number on McGaughy's website.

Did you replace the bearings in the hub? If you did make sure they are seated right.

That's about the best I can come up with...

Are you using a stock castle nut for the cotter pin to go thru? Some pics might help.

I'll get pics tonight. Stock castle nut. Was thinking maybe that nut needed to be replaced with a shorter one.

Ok, not sure what happened here, but here's the verdict. When we took it apart last night, everything in there was loose. Nut obviously hasn't moved because the cotter pin held it in place, so everything must have loosened up as I drove it 4 miles. Not sure if that's normal, but that's how it happened.

Still pulls to the right during normal driving, and I've concluded that its an alignment pull.

The new front brake lines did fix the horrible brake pull it had though. One of the lines was swelled.

So it's all good now. New front bushings all around next week, then it goes in for alignment.

Maybe your inner bearings werent seated? I forgot to get you that pic of my swaybar, I will post it in the AM.
