major question with rear ends...

aight, I know Im not on here as much as I used to be... been overly busy working two jobs.

but here goes,.,.,.,

I was curious as to what car/truck rear end assembly (meaning axles and all, the whole shi-bang), I could swap to to keep my 5 lug setup, and get posi.

hopin to do a straight swap if possible.,.,.

Assuming yours is a half-ton 2WD w/10-bolt rear end, a rear end from any similarly configured pickup up through '87 or Suburban up through '91 should be a bolt-in. A 12-bolt dating back to '73 would also fit, but the driveshaft for a 12-bolt needs to be a bit longer than one for a 10-bolt.

Try to avoid one with the Gov-Lock "posi" carrier, because they don't hold up well to hard use.

Might dig around at www.car-part.com and see if you can find one in your area.

My 79 heavy half or big 10 has a stock 12 bolt with 5 on 5 studs.
