GMCPauls Rear Drop Coils 4 or 5 ?
Has anyone ordered rear drop coils from GMCPauls ? I ordered 5" drop coils but when I got then the box says they are 4" . I sent them an email an this is what they had to say
We spoke with the manufacturer and they are positive that they wound and tempered your springs for a 5" drop, if you are trying to compare the new springs ride height to your trucks 30year old springs ride height then a difference in drop of 1" would be about right because your used springs would have been sagging from age at least 1-2" I was just wondering if anyone had this come up before ? I don't want to put them on and it be the wrong drop .

Re: GMCPauls Rear Drop Coils 4 or 5 ?
Well, I like GMC Pauls and I've always got good results with them, so by no means am I trying to discredit them. But I ordered 3" drop for the front and 4" drop for my rear and when I stood them right beside the old springs they were exactly 3" and 4" lower than the old ones. Now that doesn't mean much, considering your springs and my springs are from two different trucks. Yours could be worn out or have been heated or anything.

I ordered 6 inch drop coils from GMC Paul and received exactly what I ordered. Other than than the 2 week wait (because Paul said they were made per the specs of my truck) I have had nothing but great product and service from GMC Pauls.

If the box says 4" and you wanted 5"..........to take any and all question out of the equasion I would return them for a full refund and start again or order from someone else. You will spend the rest of the time you own the truck questioning if yOu have what you ordered.
DO NOT INSTALL THEM UNTIL YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO KEEP THEM!!!

Re: GMCPauls Rear Drop Coils 4 or 5 ?
How tall are they when measured?. 4" should be about 10-10.5" I think. I got my 4" rears from Paul.

Re: GMCPauls Rear Drop Coils 4 or 5 ?
Ask them again. It sounds like they misunderstood your question. It sounds like they are responding to someone who has installed -5" and is complaining that the truck is only -4" after installation.Did you mention the reason you`re asking is that the box says -4"?

Re: GMCPauls Rear Drop Coils 4 or 5 ?
Hi, Tom just got off the phone with the manufacturer and they again said it had to be a mistake in shipping writing wrong height on box, they stated that the engineering specs attached to your order thats was used to make the 5" drop rear springs based on your wheelbase length, bed style, motor & transmission size in truck, show that the springs should be 10 1/4" in height uncompressed.
If after measuring them you still feel they are wrong ship them to me and I'll use them on a truck I have thats the same as yours ship them to GMCPauls 505 Adams Dr Rockville, IN 47872 I'll then have another set made and shipped to you based on your trucks specs. If you decide to send them back make it Fed-Ex or UPS, or DHL so they can be tracked and I'll get the new set started as soon as you provide me the tracking # so theres as little delay as possible.
