who's running a rack and pinion?
Let us know what you've got. Mustang II? What outer tie rod ends do you have? How is the bumpsteer? Any issues with mounting? Rack to harmonic balancer clearance issues? Is your crossmember stock or sectioned? And we all love pics!

this is a really old thread, but there is a write up by a forum member. I think his username is dwscr or something like that. He has a website too. Try a search.

Re: who's running a rack and pinion?
I'll be running a 98 Camaro Z28 rack on my 66. Mounting and steering shaft is done. All that's left to do is make some TRE adaptors. I'll be using stock C10 outer TRE's. Basically this will amount to shortening and rethreading the rods on the rack then the adaptors will amount to a chunk of steel shaft that is then drilled and tapped different sizes on each end.
The Camaro rack mounts completely different than the Mustang rack, but it's still just two bolts to build for so it wasn't bad at all. I used what i could get for cheap and it will work just fine. The next biggest issue is routing the steering shaft. Motor mounts can get in the way pretty quick so I'm guessing for most R&P set-ups, motor mounts will need to be custom to provide this clearance. I've not taken any pics of mine since the mounting and all is completed, but I will in due time. It worked out very well.
