What would you do with $10k and a $500 roller?

If someone gave you a $500 farm truck with the usual dings and dents and non running I-6 with $10k in the glove box and told you to build a truck that goes fast in a straight line; what would you do and how?

Assume a 60-66 truck with a solid 1/2T frame, trailing arm setup and 6 lug wheels with drums all around.

The only additional criteria is that it needs to be able to make the drive to the track and back under it's own power.

mild 502 motor for drive-ability, custom rad, built 700r4 by local "Custom Trans" box the trailing arms, air bag the rear springs, use later model front disc and 14 bolt rear to try to stay in budget -10K isn't allot for racing. Alternate would be just buying a wrecked truck with a 5.3 or 6.0 install the drivetrain in your truck and have fun
