Matching Glovebox To Cluster

I really like the look of matching the glovebox door to whatever look the gauge bezel has.The first I did was chrome a glovebox door and add woodgrain.I`ve taken a bezel and laminated a piece of formica to smooth it and painted it body color and painted a chromed glovebox door to match.
On my wrecker there`s a gauge bezel that looks like new. But,it`s a dark gray metallic instead of chrome w/the pebble grain black.I found a color to match by DupliColor and painted the edge of the glovebox door with it.Then used DupliColor Truck Bed Liner to spray the center and it`s a close texture. Here`s how it came out:

It`s not dry in the picture,so it looks streaky. But,it came out pretty good.I`ll get a pictureof it mounted after it dries.

Looks great. I like the fact that it is grey and not chrome.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

I like this added touch.... I wanted to get someone to make a black replica of the woodgrain. I think im going to do the same setup but also the radio delete and ash tray cover. I like it,,,,,,,,,, looks good!!!!!!!!

Re: Matching Glovebox To Cluster

I have chromed headlight & wiper knobs from Cheyenne Superman I bought (in the stone age) and never used that`ll go in this truck.I`m putting the kickpanel & lower door carpet I bought at the same time in there, too.I,also have an AM/FM/cassette for it.

I wish I had picture from those other dashes. The trucks are long gone and never thought to get pictures.Never thought I`d be sharing pictures on the internet, either.

Re: Matching Glovebox To Cluster

This is awesome look also. It is basically what you did on a chromed glove box door and bezel.

I sent you a PM BTW!

Re: Matching Glovebox To Cluster

Man,that is NICE!!!About what I have in mind for the`67 GMC.Except with a red mid-60s car wheel with horn ring.Unless I can make a GMC button for the sport wheel like that one I have.I may just go with black, too.I`m leaning towards a satin paint job at first.
