Bagged suspension + turbo 408 LSx motor = ?

I've been toying with the idea of turbocharging my truck but also would like to bag the truck as well. Would this be ideal for such a motor? Would a static drop be better? Either way, I'd plan on doing a triangulated 4-link setup. I'd appreciate any input!

Re: Bagged suspension + turbo 408 LSx motor = ?

What do you plan on doing with your truck? How much boost are you planning on running? If you plan on running alot of boost you might be better off using an iron block. I would imagine that under10psi would probably be fine with the LSx motors. I am not motor expert so please research that comment. A properly setup bagged suspension will handle just as good as a traditional coil spring suspension setup. The trianglated 4 link is a good rear suspension but just like every other suspension it has pro's and cons. When setup up properly it basically elimiates any lateral movement (which is a big pro) but it has a higher roll center because of the upper trianglated links which if you are planning on tracking the truck isn't the "best rear suspension setup" (which is a con). I am not saying that a trianglated 4 link won't handle well, I am just saying in an ideal world and you are going to road racing, going to the track there might be a better rear suspension. I went with a triagnlated 4 link so i do like them. Anyways good luck and talk to you later

It's going to be based off of a LQ4 6.0L iron block. As far as boost is concerned, I will not be pushing anything more than 15-20 psi at the most. If anything, I'd like to just make a 1/4 mile run every now and then.

Re: Bagged suspension + turbo 408 LSx motor = ?

I don't see a problem with it. My 68 is bagged, and eventually I'll be in the 400+ RWHP range (maybe 500+)

The trailing arm suspension is a pretty good setup. I know a lot of the pro touring guys will put a "truck arm" suspension on their Camaros and Novas. There may be better for specific applications, but overall trailing arms are pretty good.

I have a 72 shortbed Im going to bag, and I also have a Turbo LSx engine in my 62 Chevy II. I plan on putting a 5.3 in my 72 soon and will probably turbo it too.....why? Cause its fun!
